THE ENTREPRENEUR, AND HIS ABILITY TO DRIVE BUSINESS GROWTH IN THE 21ST CENTURY

HOW TO BECOME A 21ST CENTURY ENTREPRENEUR

CHAPTER ONE

A GOOD ENTREPRENEUR ANALYSES EVERYTHING ACCURATELY BUT NOT WITHOUT GOD

Point 1:
The power of effective analysis
Effective analysis involves sieving out the chaffs from accumulated knowledge. The resulting relevant information becomes useful for effective actions. The ability to analyse comes with great observatory activities. A person who observes and consider all details, changes and trends rarely falls behind.
An effective analytical ability come with the great attitude of connecting the dots of reasoning that becomes capable of producing the current of an innovation or invention that is also capable of solving problems.
An analytical mind comes from constant practice of asking logical questions to satisfy curiosity that comes from a constant practice which sharpens the antenna that becomes more and more capable of catching the frequency and waves of ideas that can be translated to practicable concepts that can solve problems or fill need gaps.
Point 2:
The difference between specialised and organised knowledge
When you visit any library, you will see so many columns and rows of books. In these books you will find enormous amounts of theories. In these books you will find theories upon theories. These theories are called specialised knowledge. Specialised knowledge is what they teach in our schools. From your first year in the University till the day you leave or graduate, you will be continuously bombarded with specialized knowledge. Specialised knowledge will make you an expert. Advanced specialised knowledge will make you an advanced expert and possibly you will become an advanced employee.
Knowledge that is put together with definite plans aimed at taking practical steps towards a particular goal is organised knowledge. The problems with the acquisition of specialised knowledge are the definite plans and practical steps to a particular end or goal.
For knowledge to produce money it has to be organised. Organizing knowledge to produce money, a person must identify a need or problem. In the world of entrepreneurism, this need or problem is called a business opportunity. Entrepreneurs solve problems or fill a need gap, they package their solutions as products, then market and sell them. After the entrepreneur identifies the opportunity, the next step is for him to study the business opportunity. If it is a problem, if it is a need, he begins to ask business questions like, who need this solution or need. What is the population of those in need of this product, service or solution? How do I create the product, service or solution at the cheapest cost, how do I convince people to buy the product or service, at what cost, where is the best site or location to sell the product. Will I meet competitors, how can i manage competition, what is the economic strength of my potential customers, at what price will i place the product, can I segment the service, solution or product.
In the above, there are many questions. And these questions are for a purpose which is to solve a business problem or to capitalise on a business opportunity to make money.
The job of an entrepreneur is to get answers to fundamental business questions connect the dots and come up with a blue print and then act on it.
